Hey Fort Benning!

Our on-post stray animal facility is beginning an operations transition, so things will look a little different for a while.

Beginning August 8, Animal Ark Rescue will serve as the interim operators of the facility, and while the facility will be closed to the public, they will continue to ensure the animals at the facility are properly cared for.

Here’s what you can expect during this transition:

Hours – The stray facility will be closed to the public.

Strays – Stray animals found on Fort Benning will be safely collected and cared for at the facility. Report a stray by calling the DPW Service Desk at 706-786-1988

Lost Pets – If you’ve lost a pet, visit the Animal Ark Rescue Facebook page. Photos and updates will be posted to assist in reuniting owners and lost pets. PLEASE contact Animal Ark Rescue directly to coordinate reunification.

Surrenders – Owner surrenders will not be accepted during this transition. Owners will need to contact rescues located off the installation if needed.

Emergencies – If an animal poses an immediate threat to another animal or person, call 911. Do not attempt to capture or approach an aggressive animal while awaiting emergency help.
